Different types of entertainment

Before we look at different types of entertainment, we first define what is entertainment. Entertainment is any kind of activity that provides fun for people in a passive way, other entertainment activities that involve participation are considered recreational or hobby activities.

There are many types of entertainment for particular tastes, for example we have cinema, theater, sports, games, social dances, concerts, comedy shows, animations, impressionists, clowns and the list could go on forever.

These forms of entertainment can be divided into groups based on age and interest of the people who are entertained. For example, we have children, adults, live action, public and corporate entertainment. In this article we will give a brief explanation to some of these forms.

Entertainment for children

Children must be entertained and sometimes the entertainer or entertainment agency must find a balance between physical and mental activities. Clowns, puppets, pantomimes and cartoons tend to attract children, although adults may find them pleasant.

Adult entertainment

Adult entertainment many times is related to the sex industry, but this form of entertainment cannot be related only to the sex industry and its subsidiaries. Adult entertainment involves things like music concerts, live sports, opera and a hand full of other activities that children might not find so attractive.

Live entertainment

This form of entertainment is extended to all ages as there are a variety of activities that can be labeled as live entertainment. For example, music concerts, live TV shows, live sports events, theaters and any other activity that you can think of is aimed at entertaining people.

Public entertainment

Today is probably one of the most popular forms of entertainment, thanks to the economic crisis. When you walk in any big city in Europe you will notice a wide range of public entertainers working for any amount of money that the public decides to give them. There are public entertainers of all kinds, from mimes to Peruvian flutists who all work with the uncertainty of how much money they will make, which is why they tend to be more common in big cities where there are more tourists.

Business entertainment

Aimed at corporate events, private parties, award ceremonies, product launches and is best organized by a professional entertainment agency since most of the time these events involve hundreds of thousands of people and no one better than the professionals to take care of these forms of entertainment.
